Faith or imagination?

Thinks I "imagined" is a imprecise word. Trouble is: to each it has a different meaning! All based on consciousness and experience.
I think that imagination is very important as in the days of early Babylon, "nothing that they would have imagined would have been impossible." So imagination may have a source different from the thoughts of G-d. Faith actually comes from words heard from the voice of HaShem.
Spiritual Faith becomes real when repeated out loud from belief for a given situation.
Remembering (Ro 10:17)
Natural Faith comes from a set of strongly held thoughts and experiences sometimes called a paradigm. This faith often guides a life, but may not be according to goals and thoughts of our Messiah.
Faith also is the substance of those things Hoped for, the evidence not visible with the natural eye.
So to the extent that hope and imagination coincide, faith derives from imagination. So it would not be just any imagination but imagination. (I Know the plans that I have for you, Plans a good end, for a hope and a future!)
Imagination for a desirable outcome yields faith. Imagination for a undesirable outcome would yield fear. The trick is to realize that some bad past outcomes do not predetermine a future bad outcome.
So let us Hope for the good, speak the best, live the best, give the best,
in short set our imaginations on the things of G-d!

Holiness and answered prayer?????

What part does Holiness play in the process of answered prayer?

Faith works by love, But Jesus was anointed with power according to the Spirit of Holiness. Turns out that faith works better when unencumbered by misc. guilt. In other words it is easier to believe with a clear conscious. Mark 11:23-24 followed by 25&26 having to do with forgiveness. Trouble is the things we don't forgive are the very things that we are still guilty of performing. It is the old one finger out three fingers back at ya! It is a quantum easier to forgive another of something that you have truly been forgiven ; what do you think????

The interaction between love and forgiven sin is remarkable. because the love of the father is experienced by realizing forgiven sin, He who has been forgiven much has great love, the walk in holiness makes it easier to believe that the sin is forgiven. also the habit of abiding in him John 8:31-35 prevents bondage to habitual sin. The holier the life the more confidence that the prayer of faith is HEARD. In hearing we know have the answer. Since Holiness is an unreachable goal, the victory is in the effort not the attainment. Faith bridges the gap between the present and the goal. So your faith will work not by Holiness but by faith in the Life of holiness. This Holiness presumes a Law. The law is to be the target, not an attainment. If one is a not very cleaned fish but targeting the life of Holiness, Faith works. If one has walked many years in Faith and has a few issues worked out, Faith still works by remembering that first forgiveness (First-Love).

Thanking you for your response here are the two verses you noted:

  1. Heb 11:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

  2. Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

neither one of these have any thing to do with holiness.. They do have to do with the attitude of heart. Maybe that is what you are meaning by holiness.

Actually Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." attributes the condition of heart to "seeing GOD." that is kinda' what I was trying to speak to, it is not your great works of righteousness that get the miracles, If it were I would never have a HOPE!. Instead it is the Ever present work of the Holy Spirit that avails much that again by faith not holiness....please Help.

Most of my work is with people who know nothing of the scriptures, nor do they even hold them as any special authority...Instead...I have to appeal to their spirit through the eye gate, ear gate, heart gate or what ever is available. I like C S Lewis and Derek Prince find that the mind of the Word, will pierce even the most hardened heart (when applied in LOVE).

  1.       Acts 3:12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? or why do you look so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

  2.       Romans 1:4 And (Jesus was) declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

  3.       Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

  4.       1Thes. 3:13 To the end he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

  5.       Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
    1.       You want scripture, okay as you can see Holiness is your response to the presence of the LORD. It is not something that you work-up in order to get some answer to prayer. As you approach the presence of the Lord you become so very aware of your own holiness (I should say lack of it!) In the same way that some never think of the lack of electricity or artificial light until they find a location where these are abundant. They only then become aware of their own lack. In the same way Holiness does not result from your faith other than giving it additional power in prayer. With out the Faith in the first place; all the holiness in the world, would not obtain the desired answer to your prayer. Peter was acutely aware that his holiness had nothing to do with the man's healing.       Holiness simply means separated to God, in the same way the china and special utensils of the Lady's house are separated for a special occasion, that is all Holiness is! It is Your heart circumcised to God.       In the story of Abram rescuing Lot from the five kings; after the return the King of Sodom (a type of the devil) all he wanted was the souls of the people. He knew that the thing off value was not the "STUFF," it was the true riches, the souls. So Holiness is more interested in the separation to God, than all this stuff. I personally think that one purpose of the crystal river in heaven is to wash off the love of things before we cross over to heaven. It is only then that true Holiness is obtained, until then our very consciousness of things of this world taints our effort for holiness.       In conclusion you will find much more effectual prayer by concentration on the holiness of the LORD than by considering the best holiness that you can endeavor!
