A time for all things

A time for all things

per Tommy H. Briggs, Sr. Associate Pastor, Freedom Ministries

Passage in Ecclesiastes a time for all things.

Time most valued commodity

No rewind, you will never be at this point of time again.
You will never see this second again

You can see the life of God in the face of people,
  • the light of God can be seen in peoples' faces
  • At times, when I am in public I like to see the faces of people
  • light of God is in people's faces at times
  • you can always tell the presence of God or
  • lack of it in the faces of people in public

There is a seen and an unseen world in all people and in all places. Book of Job was the first written book of the Bible, it was the first concept that God thought was necessary for people to know. This is evidenced in the time of it's writing. If it was the first piece of inspired writing bearing God's message. It must have been the most important concept to understand. The first chapter features a dialogue. This dialogue shows God and Satan In this dialogue, Satan is not in the presence of God but God does invite him into the throne area of heaven. In it one can see that neither world was fully cognizant of the other one. It was not until God questioned if Satan had considered Job that Satan saw that Job had left an opening where by Job could be tempted. So the book of Job clearly reveals a heavenly and an earthly kingdom.

The God of the Bible is the only true God,
  • but there are other gods
  • both in the Bible and in our world today.
After the Children of Israel, left the Desert, God said I am the God who delivered you out of your slavery and out of Egypt , therefore, He required Worship and Honor as Such. There are other forces who would lay claim on them and will upon you if you surrender to those voices. but God is the only one with the right to do so. This is the contrast between religion and Christianity: We who are in Christianity are the ones that know the only true God. When we confess sins we are really forgiven, For so many years we walked around nor knowing this simple fact. To ask for forgiveness is to have it. .It is like throwing out the Garbage. We don't need to walk around with the junk any longer . Only by pitching the bgage of guilt may we walk in freedom. This is the way that we walk in freedom.

A time for all things Ecclestias chapter 3

  1. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
  2. A time to be born, and a time to die;
    a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
  3. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
  4. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
  5. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
    a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
  6. A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
  7. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
  8. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
  9. verse 17 says:
I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked:
for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

The Creed of the Teacher

I saw a man hungry today,

Gave him a fish his hunger to stay;

On the morrrow he returned again

To find relief from the pain within.

Now, thought I, to teach his hand

to catch each day his fish to can;

So bears he, his own self, the burden of life

And with the toil, wins the pride of his wife!

Basics of Healing

Dan Bennett presenter healing precepts and concepts

Prerequisites

God's Will for Health and healing

  • IIIJohn 2 Beloved I wish above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.

  • Psalm 107:20 God Sent his word and healed them and delivered them form all their destructions.

  • Isaiah 53

  • Isaiah 61

  • Luke 4:18

God's approach to mankind is typically very simple

  • Naaman- go wash in the Jordan
  • 10 Lepers Jesus healed - go report to the priests
  • Miriam -Bitter waters

David sought the Lord ....pursue Him, OR don't pursue Him
The enemy tries to make it hard and confusing and complicated
  • - don't allow Devil to succeed
  • - whatever you do, don't help Devil !
  • - watch your words, don't talk a lot about the circumstances

A key mission and purpose of the Holy Spirit is to

  • guide,
  • to teach, and
  • to reveal

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show you great and mighty things that you do not know.

Be followers of Jesus

  • Doers of the word

Sign follow those that believe Mark 16:15

    Purpose of salvation....

    What does saved mean????

    Holistic and complete word

    Faith and Belief

To Know God is to respect Him

It isn't truth that sets you free ...

    • John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

    • John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    • To believe God's Word is to Honor them.

    • To live by God's Word is to Obey them.

    God's One step Plan

    • Jesus the man receiving the anointing of God

    • in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

    • Actions of Jesus showing us how to walk in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

    • Five things in the process of healing

      1. Mark 16:15

      2. Redemption of the Spirit

      3. Healing of the Soul (inner Healing)

      4. Healing of the Body (physical Healing)

      5. Freedom from demonic oppression

      6. In-filling of the Holy Spirit

  • I Corinthians 11:29
  • scripture

Fulfilling the Great commission is a commandment of God

    • Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

    • Matthew 10:11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

    • Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

    • Mr 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

      1. We will not receive if we do not believe
        James1:5-8

      2. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.

      3. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

      4. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

      5. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

      Trust in God

It was an 11 day journey across the desert that took the children of Israel 40 days,

when they doubted (disobey and disrespect) the Power of the Lord to deliver a victory
it instead took 40 years (a day a year)

      Promises of God

The promises of God were always there, always valid, and God was always able to fulfill it.

but how many people did not put themselves in a position to receive it.
They did not believe and they did not obey.
All of them suffered for it!

      The Anointing is for you

      • Isaiah 61/ Luke 4:16 The Spirit of God is upon Me

      • Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth

      • Definition of anointing God is with Jesus, i.e. God is with you

      • Jesus sent the anointer to dwell within us!

      • The word anointed means the same as the Hebrew "Messiah"

      • Christ is often, but not always a reference to Jesus.

      • Christ is sometimes a reference to the anointing (Philippines 4:13)

      • Christ is always a reference to the person and/or the action of the Holy Spirit.

      • Christian = Christ -person, one who is anointed.
      • Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, but he has given you the Holy Spirit to be with you.

      • If you are a Christian, you also are anointed with the anointing of the Holy Spirit

      • Just as Christ was and you are operating in that model of disciples,

      What is that model? ....

The Sending of the Disciples and the Great Commission

      • Matthew 10:1-8,40 scripture

        1. Mark 16:15-20

        2. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

        3. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

        4. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

        5. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

        6. ¶ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

        7. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

        Healing

Everything in the Bible is truly stated, but not necessarily a statement of truth (circa Ever increasing Faith, Dr Frederick Price, www.faithdome.org )

        1. Our focus in scripture is on the life and example of Jesus as our prime model for how we are to conduct ourselves.

        2. We do not focus on the people who came to Jesus;
              they are not our model

Disciple- A person called and chosen to learn practical and theoretical knowledge form a master-

as an approach in close relationship to the master.
and in a position of submission and service.
A disciple is a strict adherent to all that the master teaches.
As an apprentice, a disciples' actions and works are meant to as nearly as possible, exactly replicate those of his master.

        Disciple from Easton's Dictionary,
A child of Christ is one who
        1. believes his doctrine
        2. rests on his Sacrifices
        3. imbibes the Spirit
        4. imitates his examples

        5. Matthew 10:24
        6. Luke 14:26,27,33
        7. John 6:69

    scripture

      Matthew 10:24

    1. The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

    2. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. ......
    3. return

      Isaiah11:29

    1. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

    2. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

    3. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
    4. return

      Isaiah 61:1-2
    1. ¶ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

    2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

    3. return

      Luke 6:18

    1. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
    2. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

    3. return

      Acts 10:38
    1. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

    2. return

      Isaiah 53:

    1. ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
    2. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
    3. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
    4. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
    5. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
    6. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
    7. ¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
    8. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
    9. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

    Prayer a way of life

    Prayer

Prayer is the easiest to perform yet the most under utilized spiritual discipline.
    • You can do it most anywhere and at many different times during the day.
    • It requires only that you focus on God
      for a few minutes.
    • Yet our busy and distracted lives prevent prayer from having it's transforming impact in our lives.
    • Now I'm talking about any kind of prayer here.
      • There are many different kinds of prayer.
      • And the Tabernacle Prayer is my favorite by far.
      • But TP is like a college education vs. a grammer school assignment.
      • I believe all prayer is good. And more prayer is better than less prayer.
      • TP will offer a skeleton framework.
        1. Getting it's pattern from the progression the High Priest followed as he approached the Mercy Seat
        2. It provides a framework where the necessary changes in the heart of the intercessor of prayer warrior as prayer is offered,
        3. and petition is made.

This week, a familar verse... an often lost subtlety...revealed in the Amplified version. These kinds of things only apprehend your soul when you are praying them.

Review in Matthew where the Lord is encouraging us to be prayers:

      • Mat 7:7 Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.

      Keep on Asking

    • There are several profound lessons in this verse that become very clear in the Amplified.
    • "Keep on" is one.
      • Your pastor has probably mentioned this from the pulpit a time or too.
      • "Keep on" means "keep on" asking until something happens.
      • "Keep on" until there is peace about it.
      • "Keep on" until a specific answer is clear. Or "keep on" until your heart sees things differently.
    • So keep on praying every day about it until something happens.

  • One or two prayers about a situation vs. "keeping on" says more about your lack of understanding about how prayer works
  • than it says about God answering prayer.

Now that of course lends itself to the Tabernacle prayer because by practicing the Temple prayer,
  • the Holy Spirit (your best teacher) teaches you to develop a daily prayer discipline so you get maximum benefit from your time with God.
  • And more importantly the Lord experiences maximum blessing from your focused and
  • consistent worship of him according to His pattern of worship.

But there is more in the (amplified) version of this verse:
    • Mat 7:7 Keep on asking and it will be given you;
    • keep on seeking and you will find;
    • keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.

Whoa... knock reverently.... what is that? Here the Lord is revealing a secret to approaching Him. God your father, the creator of heaven and earth, the one who formed you in your mothers womb, he deserves reverence.

    Dictionary says:

  • reverence - 1 : honor or respect felt or shown : DEFERENCE; especially : profound adoring awed respect
  • 2 : a gesture of respect (as a bow) synonym see HONOR

    • We Americans are very poor at honoring or being reverent to anyone.
    • Yet God says that if you want to really please him,
    • show him the reverence that is due his name... even in prayer.

Now I could write a book about this but suffice it to say in this setting that

  • there is a proper protocol to approaching the president of the United States.
  • And there is a proper protocol to approaching God.

I believe that the biblical pattern of reverence is

  • best revealed in the Tabernacle of Moses and
  • best exemplified by Jesus Christ.
  • It is by far the best and most throughly documented pattern of worship in Scripture.

So give it a try and watch what God does when you approach him reverently.

Until next time ... stay in His House!
    It's where the action begins!

    Blessing over Hands

Berakhot ... the Hebrew thought for blessing when used as the "Blessed are you Oh Lord God King of the universe... implies the question ?May I have permission to enjoy this?? as well as Thank you for the provision.
Prayer... implies that I am the one that is changing as the result of this petition..
This is important because we typically pray with the intent to "Get God to do something or change something!!!!"
Torah portion this week promises that God will remove the obstacles (enemies) in the land a little at a time. Seems to indicate that we will have to grow to be able to take over the land (territory.) In prayer we simultaneously change a little to correspond to the the difference between before and after we pray & then we "authorize the forces of our King to move in behalf of us or the ones for whom we pray making creative changes as are necessary to complete the burden of our request."
Faith is that spiritual force that "carries our hope" over the time lapse between the prayer spoken and the prayer actualized.

Putting it altogether we have the thought that the heart felt (emotionally heated) prayer of the righteous man(person) avails (is powerful to accomplish the task) much.

    Exodus 23

29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
    • 30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.
    • 31 And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

Prayer tools class ** Mar 22** worship in prayer

    Prayer Tools Class

    Sunday 9AM
    Room 206

    God is always Moving-

    Still Quiet voice

    Worship is the move

    Deliverance         through worship

      Worship
    • What does worship look like to you
    • What does deliverance look like to you
    • Describe that in your own words
    • All different places
    • All different ways
    • How could each of us experience individual relationship and     deliverance

      Worth-Ship attribute worth to God
    1. How can that truth be?         3x
    2. Most people worship something..
    3. Let your worship be to the highest God
    4. Best to worship the Highest
    5. Best worship should be to God

How does worship appear to God?
    • Pray -- Experience God where you are
    • Worship -- Experience God where you are
    • We are partners in prayer and in worship
    • We are Gods handiwork in prayer as in worship
    • In many ways prayer and worship go hand in hand
    • We can combine the prayer and worship
    • The two together are much more powerful together
    • Try iPod worship as you pray
Enter His gates with thanks giving
      enter His courts with praise
if you approach the throne of God...Do it as He says
Be one on one with God, but must enter as he describes in the Temple Pattern

      Deliverance
    1. In his presence is fullness of Joy
    2. Deliverance ... Does it have a stigma?
Have negative experiences denied us the opportunity to avail ourselves of the Liberty God Desires?

    3. Delivery defined
    4. Be brought out
    5. Baby delivered from Mommy
    6. Getting unstuck from something that for years has constrained us
    7. Free from bondage
    8. This is a reason we need the Lord
We are always getting stuck in something
We always need deliverance from something
    9. The human condition
daily walk encounters places and situations that seem to get us stuck
    10. Come out of darkness into His Glorious    light
other comparisons - Ashes for beauty
      Body to Spirit

      How do I get unstuck?
    1. Twenty-four hours a day ++ Seven days a week
    2. Freedom covers The entire of life... if you let it!
    3. How are we made free?
      Spirit, Soul, Body.
    4. God intended for the Spirit to be in charge
    5. Then the Soul
    6. Then the Body
    7. Our culture gets the order in reverse
if the Spirit were the head
      the Soul were the torso
      the body were the legs
it would be like the person walked on his head and stood upside down
Some let the head rule ,that is like letting the body walk with head doubled over to the floor-who could see where they were going?
any one can see it doesn't work any way other than the way the Lord designed
    8. Take this yuck picture and then let natural thoughts prevail any one can see you are in a funk
    9. If you let Soul lead --it is not designed to lead
    10. If you let Body lead --it will lead to tall kinds of undesirable results
Such a life will be all wrong
    11. We must get back to God's original design for life
      That would be proper alignment
    12. Authority in life for God is a God of order
      That is how it works

      Spirit Man hungers
    • To feed Spirit you need Spirit nutrients
      Feed on the Word
      Chew on the Word
      Meditate on the Word
Look on the table not on the circumstance
    • Let this nutrition get inside you to strengthen your self
    • Pray in the Spirit puts in action the nutrition
    • Thinking of the alignment picture --
When I get into a contorted picture I have not communion with the Lord
    • The Spirit of the Lord has communion with My spirit, not My soul or my body!
    • Holy Spirit is only in communion with my Spirit
It is vital to commune this way
    • When My body wants to eat wrong or my Soul wants to think wrong or even sleep at the wrong time
    • I need to feed my Spirit, Make it stronger.
    • The Strongest force will prevail
make the Spirit the strongest by feeding it first
    • It is wonderful
      Okay this feels right
Everything is working the way it is designed
    • When we redo it we need only go back to the Lord and he will make us correct
      he will make the adjustments

      In His Presence
    1. We are set free in his presence
    2. You need to spend more time in His Presence
    3. If one is to have something removed from his body like a growth
He must first submit to the doctor
      Lay on the operating table
Permit the anesthesia to do it's work
then permit the doctor to wield the knife
The doctor will then remove the offending item
    4. In the presence of the Lord we are set free
    5. So how does it happen, How do we get free?
    6. When we worship we are lightly lifted and then delivered of the darkness
    7. In his presence He looks very big

    pray
    Psalm 100
1 ¶ A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us,
and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

1 Chronicles 16:   ***  The Most High God
    • 27 Glory and honor are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.
    • 28 Give unto the LORD, ye kindred of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
    • 29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
    • 30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
    • 31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigns.

    • 1John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.
    • 1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
    • By this we understand darkness as something to be delivered from.
We get the definition of walking in the "Light" as being synonymous with walking with God

In His Presence What do you see?
      Revelation 5:8-14

    • 8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
    • 9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
    • 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
    • 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
    • 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
    • 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on t
he earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
    • 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

    SILENT SUPPORTER

    My definition of a friend!

    SILENT SUPPORTER

    So very nice to meet you today, I'll just be your "silent supporter";
that would be one who is in your corner when it seems like all are against you.

The prayer will start out with a:
    1. Dear Father I pray to acquire for my friend His/Her
      needs and
      goals in Your perfect will

    2. Devil I bind your efforts to hinder
      the deliverance of these needs
or the success of these goals
    3. Angels who are to minister to the heirs of salvation
I authorize you to go to work in the completion of these prayers
I dispatch you to bring the circumstances to pass to fulfill these needs and goals in God's perfect will
and to set up circumstances that will make

      • introductions and
      • agreements
      • as are necessary to bring this success to pass.
    4. To conclude we have the scripture in
Revelation 4:8-11 ::(best said out loud)
      8 ¶ And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him;
and they were full of eyes within:
and they rest not day and night,
saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honor and
thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne,
and worship him that liveth for ever and ever,
and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

This seems to keep everyting in perspective

    prayer
  • James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

    bind
  • Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven:
and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

    minister
  • Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits,
sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
The only question in theology is: Do we have the right to dispatch them? I'm not sure how this works except that if we can bind the evil one why can we not loose the good ones. Seems to me to be the same power and scripture

    Faith for Healing

    Healing Faith

    Feb 21,2009

Healing takes place in an atmosphere of FAITH
    Lesson Emphasis *** Hebrews 11:6

  • 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

In each transaction there is a medium of exchange. This truth is based on the pyridine that every interaction is a transaction. Relationship means mutual exchange and interchange.
For dogs and people the medium of exchange is a pet and an "atta-boy". In essence this is the thing that the dog gets from his people that he needs and that motivates him is the "atta-boys". For people a medium of exchange is sometimes praise, and sometimes Money. For Ladies the medium of exchange is attention. But for God the medium of exchange is Faith. With out this medium of exchange it is impossible to please God.

The essence of this lesson centers on the gift of healing that Jesus used to heal people. In most of the examples of healing in the New Testament, the scriptures note the people being healed demonstrated the faith that became the basis for the gift to operate. Their faith implied their permission to permit the healing power of Jesus of operate. Without it nothing would take place. As it is the whole world is in the same place as they would be without the healing power of God. There are seventeen distinct examples or situations where Jesus caused a miracle healing to take place. In fourteen of these the faith of the people being healed is noted. In two of the other three the compassion of the Lord is mentioned as having healed them. It seems that generally sick people want to be healed, wish for prayer, and sometimes even hope for this to happen for them. But to really lean on the power of the Lord and nothing else to be healed is a different matter. Is a person really ready to permit, even in his own mind and heart, the reputation of the Lord to rest on this particular example of God's healing answer.
I have found that three things exist in places where miracles toke place:A seed, a need, and a tangible quality of faith. Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for the evidence of those things not seen.

    Faith
    What is Faith

Hebrews 11:1 ¶ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Please note that everything about God is NOW Hope is off in the future, memory paints it's murals in the rooms of our past! The future is guaranteed to no one. We do have our now! For beginners,God of all eternity identified himself to Moses as I am that I AM!

    Return from footnote

    Faith
    How Does Faith Come

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith does come and once it comes it can grow or increase. hearing seems to be the critical element. But what a person is listening to makes a huge difference. Listening to the WORD of God is the Thing!

    Hebrews 11:6

impossible to please God without faith

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    Back

    I am that I AM!

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt you say unto the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

In a world where every one proclaims his own self identity, God contrasts himself as that I AM
He seems to be saying that He is the ever present one, for ever present tense.

    Healing fulfilled Scripture

Matthew 8:14 ¶ And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
Matthew 8:15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
Matthew 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
Matthew 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Faith that is real faith is faith in God and by reference his Word as written in scriptures. In order to trust a person you start by trusting in what he says. You come to a place where you really believe that what will happen is predictable by you and that he really do what you have a right to expect him to do. This right to rely on what you think that he will do must of necessity come form something that he did or said
    that he would do.

    Matthew 9:2-8
  • 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

  • 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.

  • 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

  • 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

  • 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then Said he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto your house.

  • 7 And he arose, and departed to his house.

  • 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power to men.

  • In this case the Faith mentioned was of the friends demonstrated by tearing the roofing off of the house. They made a hole wide enough to drop him and his litter into the room. This could not have been kosher in any society. Maybe the sins forgiven were there violations. In few cases of Jesus healing actions were sins forgiven required. As one meditated on the verses thinking about beggars on the street and their attendant irritation, these friends may have even challenged Jesus to put up or shut up. In a manner of speaking the challenge was answered by healing. Not to be missed in the example is the faith manifested by obiedance: the beggar had to get up, which he had never done, and pick up his bed, which he had also never done, else he could not be healed. Until he made an attempt to obey he was not healed. The power to heal came in stages or waves across the body of the lame man. In a time sequence first the arm reachinmg out, then the body weight shift. He must have been stiff after so much immobility. And for strength to come into the muscles must have been a sight. Little by little the cracks of the joints and the clicks of the bones, the man began to arise. At this point nothing was too difficult for Jesus. But the man had his part in the exchange.

Is It God's Will to heal me?

Only one place in the Christian New Testament did the question ever appear:
Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if you will, thou cant make me clean.
3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
A second account of the same incident in
Mark1:40 ¶ And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If you will, you can make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and said unto him, I will; be clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

    ******************

By inference there exist many evidences as to God's will and Healing: A chief example
Exodus 15:26 And said, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals you.
Here God Identifies his name as our Healer!

Psalm 1 ¶ A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
    3 Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all your diseases;
    4 Who redeems thy life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
